Demant Sees Strong Growth in the First Quarter of 2023

Demant announced the acquisition of the remaining 80% of the shares in ShengWang, thereby taking full ownership of the network of hearing aid clinics in China. This follows the 20% minority investment announced on March 4, 2022 and represents what the company says is “a significant strategic transaction in Demant’s continuous journey within hearing healthcare.”
Olsen, who has been with the Demant Group since 1985 and has spearheaded Oticon Medical since the establishment of the company in 2008, will continue in an advisory role for Oticon Medical to ensure a smooth transition.
Companies in the Demant Group, which include Oticon, Sonic Innovations, and Bernafon, were the victims of a cyber attack that affected their IT infrastructure on September 3. The group was forced to shut down its IT systems across multiple sites and business units to contain the issue last week.
