One of the key headlines from the data, according to BIHIMA, is the number of hearing-impaired people using hearing instruments, which has risen to 53%. This is an increase of 12% over the last 10 years, demonstrating how the industry is reaching a greater number of people, however, there is still “much to do if we are to positively impact all those in need.”
In a recent survey of 2,000 UK adults commissioned by the British Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (BIHIMA), consumers were questioned about their awareness of the co-existence of hearing loss and other diseases such as dementia, depression, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
