The British Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (BIHIMA) has posted a statement on its website regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

In the statement, the organization states, “All BIHIMA members are working as hard as possible to ensure that hearing instrument users still have access to vital hearing technology and audiology services, although inevitably there has been a need to prioritize urgent care.”

BIHIMA supports the government’s recommendation that community audiology clinics are exempt from general retail closures, as well as the British Academy of Audiology’s (BAA) COVID-19 guidelines, which offer alternatives to face-to-face interactions.
