Custom hearing aids—whether they are in-the-ear (ITE), in-the-canal (ITC), completely-in-the-canal (CIC), or invisible-in-the-canal (IIC)—have acoustic pathways between the receiver and the end of the bore that are on the order of 10 mm or less.
