GN Store Nord has appointed Anders Hedegaard as CEO of GN ReSound and member of GN Store Nord’s executive management team effective as of August 1, 2014. He replaces Lars Viksmoen, who has decided to step down from his position as CEO of GN ReSound to change his work life balance, according to the company.
GN reports that Lars Viksmoen has been a tremendous asset to the group by securing a very successful turnaround of GN ReSound and positioning the company for growth. To ensure a smooth transition, Viksmoen will continue full-time in GN until the end of 2014, working with Hedegaard. Additionally, he will continue to contribute to the development of GN through various projects including work with the GN Store Nord strategy committee.
“Over the last 4 years, Lars has been instrumental in driving the comprehensive restructuring of GN ReSound and at the same time positioning GN ReSound as the fastest growing company in the hearing aid industry,” says Chairman Per Wold-Olsen. “It is with great regret I have accepted Lars´ resignation, but I fully respect his decision to step down from this demanding role. I am very pleased that Lars will continue to be part of the GN Store Nord agenda and would like to thank Lars for his contributions as CEO.”
Anders Hedegaard comes from a position as CEO of Bavarian Nordic A/S, a biotechnology company listed on NASDAQ OMX Copenhagen with significant US presence. Hedegaard has a broad-base of managerial experience and has been responsible in driving significant revenue growth and improved productivity in global companies, according to GN. Hedegaard has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and MedTech industries from senior management positions in ALK-Abelló A/S, FOSS A/S, and Novo Nordisk A/S. He has a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Technical University of Denmark.
“Lars and I have worked together to recruit his successor, and I am very pleased that Anders has accepted the position as CEO for GN ReSound.” says Wold-Olsen. “Anders is exceptionally qualified to handle an ambitious innovation and growth agenda. His first priority will be to ensure a continued successful commercialization of our industry’s first Made for iPhone products.”
