Oticon’s new Reveal hearing aid pairs two dedicated AI systems—one for speech, one for context—with an upgraded connectivity platform.
Oticon has announced Oticon Reveal, a hearing aid built on what the company describes as a Dual AI system designed to deliver speech clarity and contextual sound in real-time balance across all listening environments throughout the day.
The device combines two dedicated AI systems—a Speech AI and a Context AI—running simultaneously on the new Reveal AI platform. According to Oticon, the approach reflects emerging BrainHearing research suggesting that optimal auditory understanding requires both clear speech access and preserved contextual sound, rather than aggressive noise reduction alone.
A Different Approach to AI in Hearing Care
Oticon’s positioning of Reveal takes direct aim at what it describes as a dominant industry trend: the use of aggressive AI noise reduction that prioritizes speech at the expense of other meaningful sounds. The company argues this “speech-only” approach conflicts with how the brain naturally processes auditory input and does not fully address the range of user needs. Oticon says its Dual AI architecture takes a different path, one rooted in neuroscience research showing the brain functions best when speech and meaningful environmental context are available simultaneously.
The Speech AI continuously identifies and enhances speech from people around the user, while the Context AI recognizes and balances surrounding sounds, according to the company. Oticon reports the combination results in a 60% stronger brain response compared to prior approaches, citing internal research by Zapata-Rodríguez et al. (2026).
“For years, we have been leading the development of AI in hearing care, continually pushing what hearing technology can do. With our new Dual AI system, we are setting a new benchmark in the industry by helping the brain make sense of sound in a more natural and meaningful way. Combined with our industry-leading ability to deliver gain without feedback and our new connectivity platform, Oticon Reveal represents a fundamental shift in hearing technology and ushers in a new era of breakthrough innovation,” says Lisbeth Meng Collignon, VP of US marketing at Oticon, in a release.
Reveal Optimizer and Feedback Management
Central to the Reveal AI platform is the Reveal Optimizer, which Oticon says delivers 30% faster feedback prevention and four times greater precision compared to previous systems, boosting headroom and fitting stability. The company also claims the Optimizer provides up to 25 dB more gain than top competitors—a specification that may be of particular interest to hearing care professionals fitting patients with more significant hearing losses.
“At Oticon, we have always challenged the conventional way of thinking about hearing care. With Oticon Reveal, we are redefining what better hearing should be by moving beyond speech in isolation and focusing on how the brain truly makes sense of sound. We turn insight into innovation to create life-changing products that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. With Dual AI, consisting of a Speech AI and a Context AI, we are not only advancing technology, but we are also delivering a more complete hearing experience that helps people engage more naturally, with greater ease, and stay connected to the world around them,” says Susanna Løve, global director of commercial audiology at Oticon, in a release.
New Connectivity Platform
Oticon Reveal also introduces a new connectivity platform built around Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast broadcast technology. The company says the updated platform offers improved signal strength for enhanced stability and range during streaming—enabling hands-free calls and audio streaming with greater freedom of movement. Reveal is compatible with iPhone as a made-for-iPhone device and is optimized for Android.
Context Within Oticon’s Recent Portfolio
The Reveal launch follows a period of active product development at Oticon. The company recently introduced the Oticon Zeal hearing aid family to the US market, expanded the Oticon Intent lineup with additional styles and connectivity options, and introduced the Verit Hearing Aid Family with Disposable Batteries and the Play SI pediatric hearing aid family. Reveal represents the company’s newest platform-level introduction, built on a distinct AI architecture rather than an incremental update to an existing line.
