The CI 2013 symposium, organized by the American Cochlear Implant Alliance, will bring together cochlear implant clinicians, scientists, educators, and government officials to explore the latest research results, discuss varied clinical populations, and raise questions regarding clinical implications.

The 2013 CI conference is entitled “Emerging Issues in Cochlear Implantation” and is planned as a symposium addressing research, clinical implications, and cost-effectiveness.

It will take place in Washington, DC on October 24 to 26, 2013. In addition to the opening sessions each day, six symposium topics will be explored in depth. The topics will include:

  • Hearing Preservation
  • Implantation of the Very Young
  • Implanting Multiply Involved Children
  • Cochlear Implants in Single-Sided Deafness
  • Cochlear Implantation in Older Adults
  • Telehealth and Cochlear Implantation

Conference organizers are now accepting abstracts on the above six topics, as well as other cochlear implant issues. Proposals are for poster presentation only, and no podium presentations will be accepted. The submission deadline is May 30, 2013.
