Stafa, Switzerland — Phonak has announced the launch of a competition to find the most inspiring young users of its FM technology. "My Phonak FM & Me" invites children and young adults under the age of 19 to submit a short video, via YouTube, to communicate the impact that FM technology has had on their life.

The most inspiring clip, assessed by Phonak’s judging panel, will win its creator a Full HD Sony camcorder worth $1,900, with 10 runners-up receiving handheld Flip camcorders. The video that has received the most views by the competition’s deadline of May 7, 2010, will win a top of the line iPhone 3GS.

Phonak’s wireless FM systems, used by millions of adults and children around the world to clarify speech in difficult listening situations, offer specially designed wireless technology that works with hearing aids to deliver the sounds users want to hear direct to their ears, improving speech clarity and user understanding. FM systems can also be easily connected to multimedia devices.

"We know that FM technology really helps people get more from their daily lives whether that’s having a conversation with a friend or following a lesson in a classroom," said Alexander Zschokke, Phonak’s group vice president of Marketing. "We’re very excited to find out what our younger users come up with."
