Martin Pienkowski, PhD, assistant professor at Salus University George S. Osborne College of Audiology, Elkins Park, Pa, has received a $20,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Lions Hearing Research Foundation. The grant will be used to research potential risks to the hearing of people working or living in moderately noisy environments that are presently considered safe by occupational noise exposure standards.
The Pennsylvania Lions Hearing Research Foundation was designed to provide research for the hearing impaired. Grants are provided for researchers in the state of Pennsylvania and are awarded by the Foundation based on critiques from its Medical Advisory Board.
“We commend Dr Pienkowski on the important research he is doing,” says Victor Bray, Jr, PhD, dean of Salus University George S. Osborne College of Audiology. “Salus University has a strong commitment to research in basic and clinical sciences and we thank the Pennsylvania Lions Hearing Research Foundation for their generous support.”
