The “Hear to Move” Aud Lifestyle 5K Fun-Run/Walk held at the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) Convention in St Louis raised $10,000 for the Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) chapters at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC), Washington University in St Louis, and Missouri State University. Held Thursday, March 31, just prior to the AAA General Session and Keynote, this year’s race took place in Gateway Arch National Park. The Top-3 (untimed) runners were Clifford “Dr Cliff” Olson of Applied Hearing Solutions in Phoenix, Ariz, Thomas Behrens of Oticon A/S in Denmark, and Monil Shah of Alpaca (pictured).
Organized by Amit Gosalia, AuD, the fun/run walk is a great way to start the convention while helping out some terrific student organizations. This year’s sponsors included Alpaca Audiology, Oaktree Products, CounselEar, Cognivue, and MedPB (personal donation from Kevin St Clergy).
I’d like to highlight the team as well! We can’t pull off an event like this without a dedicated team! Drs. Courtney Stewart, Gail Whitelaw, Jane Rosner, Kimberly Skinner, Jennifer Martin & Ashley Hughes! We look forward to seeing everyone in Seattle WA next year where I’m sure it will NOT be raining!!
