Audioscan, a supplier of hearing aid fitting systems in North America and a division of manufacturing company Etymonic Design Inc, announced the appointment of Li Qi, PhD, as the company’s Chief Audiologist and Educator for Asia.
According to Audioscan, Qi will be responsible for advancing education and support programs for real ear measurement and hearing aid fitting with a special focus on teaching universities in Asia and among pediatric hearing care professionals in the region.
“Dr Qi’s understanding of the importance and use of real-ear measurements in fitting modern hearing instruments makes him an outstanding individual to spearhead our education and audiology support programs in Asia,” said John Pumford, AuD, Audioscan’s Director of Audiology and Education. “He will immediately begin working to advance our education programs with both our distribution and academic partners in Asia.”
Li Qi received his master’s degree in audiology from the University of British Columbia, and his doctoral degree in biomedical engineering from McGill University. He has extensive experience in audiological practice, clinical research and teaching, both in China and in Canada. His primary clinical and research interest is focused on pediatric audiology. Qi was the recipient of the Innovation Award from Vancouver Coastal Health in 2013 and also the Excellence in Applied Research Award from Speech-Language and Audiology Canada in 2014. Qi has authored numerous authoritative articles in professional publications and is a frequent speaker at Canadian and Chinese audiological events.
