Starkey has announced that its latest advancements on the Omega AI hearing technology platform are now available to Government Services. The enhancements are designed to improve communication, device performance, and patient outcomes for service members and veterans.
New Connectivity and Accessibility Features
The update introduces several new features aimed at expanding connectivity and ease of use. Auracast Assistant allows users to discover and connect to Auracast broadcast audio in public settings. A Push to Talk function enables voice message communication between users of the My Starkey app. For Android users, Google Fast Pair facilitates a single-tap connection between hearing aids and compatible devices. The launch also includes the new StarLink Edge LE Adapter.
“For our Government Services partners, that means providing technology that performs in the most demanding environments while empowering hearing professionals with smarter, more efficient tools,” says Brandon Sawalich, president and CEO of Starkey, in a release. “With Omega AI, we are raising the standard, ensuring service members and veterans have access to the most advanced, reliable hearing technology available.”
Platform Durability and Performance
The Omega AI platform is engineered for use in demanding environments. According to the company, the hearing aids feature waterproofing up to 10 times stronger than previous coatings, and custom products are designed to be up to 20 times tougher. For sound processing, the platform utilizes Starkey’s deep neural network (DNN) technology to improve speech understanding in complex listening environments.
Tools for Hearing Care Professionals
To support clinicians serving government populations, Starkey has also released an enhanced RIC Fitting and Tool kit. The system is designed to streamline the fitting process, allowing providers to conduct faster and more efficient fittings.
