The award highlights the discreet hearing aid’s design, innovation, and user-centered features.
Oticon has received the Red Dot Design Award for its Oticon Zeal hearing aid, recognizing the product for its design quality and innovation. The award acknowledges Oticon Zeal’s discreet, in-the-ear form factor, which integrates advanced technology with a user-focused design.
Built on the company’s BrainHearing philosophy, Oticon Zeal features second-generation AI-supported sound processing that analyzes and balances sounds in real time. According to the company, this technology is designed to support the brain’s natural process of interpreting sound, helping users in complex listening environments.
“With Oticon Zeal, we have created an entirely new hearing aid category. A true gamechanger in the industry. For the first time, we have successfully integrated our proven technology and full functionality into a discreet, in-the-ear design,” says Dorthe Krogh Jensen, vice president brand management, in a release. “By reducing stigma, Oticon Zeal shows how thoughtful, human-centered design, and intelligent, AI-driven technology can come together to deliver life-changing hearing care that fits naturally into everyday life.”
In addition to its sound processing capabilities, Oticon Zeal includes Auracast broadcast connectivity for accessing audio in public spaces. The device is rechargeable and designed for all-day use. Oticon notes that the product was developed for both end-users and hearing care professionals, with the goal of lowering barriers to adoption and supporting clinical conversations about hearing care.
