The new offerings include Auracast-enabled custom styles for the ReSound Savi essential family and the integration of the NAL-NL3 prescriptive formula into ReSound Smart Fit 2.3 software.

GN has announced an expansion of its ReSound hearing aid portfolio with new custom styles and updates to its fitting technology. The company is adding In-The-Canal (ITC) and Completely-In-Canal (CIC) models to its ReSound Savi essential family and introducing ReSound Smart Fit 2.3, a new version of its fitting software.

Portfolio Expansion with Custom Styles

The ReSound Savi essential line, previously available in Receiver-In-Ear models, will now include custom styles designed to sit in the ear canal. Among the new models is a wireless ITC hearing aid that features Auracast broadcast audio, providing Bluetooth connectivity to public and private audio streams within the essentials category.

“With our new ReSound Savi custom styles, we are strengthening our essential range to meet more individual needs and preferences. Together with our industry-leading fitting advancements, these developments give people easier access to great technology that simply helps them hear better and feel more connected,” says Peter Justesen, president of the hearing division at GN, in a release.

Fitting Software to Integrate NAL-NL3

GN is also introducing ReSound Smart Fit 2.3, which includes enhanced AutoREM (Real-Ear Measurement) to help match the hearing aid’s output to a user’s ear acoustics.

Additionally, GN announced the planned integration of NAL-NL3, a prescriptive fitting formula developed by National Acoustic Laboratories. A future software update to ReSound Smart Fit 2.3 will allow hearing care professionals to use the formula, which is designed to determine optimal amplification based on an individual’s hearing loss.

“We are incredibly excited that ReSound Smart Fit 2.3 will be the fitting software to integrate NAL-NL3. This will enable hearing care professionals to harness the full power of our cutting-edge prescriptive formula, providing their patients with the most precise and personalized sound experience possible. It truly elevates the standard of care,” says Brent Edwards, director of the National Acoustic Laboratories, in a release.

Study Results and Availability

The announcement also referenced a recent study from Oldenburg University which found that ReSound Vivia demonstrated superior performance for speech intelligibility in noise compared to other premium hearing aids.

The new ReSound Savi custom styles and ReSound Smart Fit 2.3 software, along with their Beltone equivalents, Beltone Commence and Beltone Solus Max 2.3, are scheduled to launch in the US, Austria, and Germany on February 19, with other markets to follow. The NAL-NL3 support within ReSound Smart Fit 2.3 is planned for a later software release this spring.
