Audiology Practice Standards Organization (APSO) will soon publish a draft standard for public review and comment. The newest standard, “S5.1 Evaluation of Patients with Tinnitus,” addresses the tasks performed by an audiologist when evaluating patients who have tinnitus. The standard will be open for public review and comment Monday, October 13, 2025, remaining open through Friday, October 24, 2025.
Any U.S. audiologist may review and comment on the standard and all comments are welcome. APSO strives to create standards that describe the basic practices of all audiologists, are based in evidence and produced with the support of the entire profession.
