iClever has introduced the Q950, a children’s headphone that has earned TÜV Rheinland Hearing Care Certification — an evaluation spanning safe listening, acoustic performance, adaptive audio care, and active hearing care.

iClever, which markets itself as the No. 1 kids’ headphone brand in the US online market, has launched the Q950, a children’s headphone designed around a hearing-care philosophy that goes beyond standard volume-limiting approaches. The product has received TÜV Rheinland Hearing Care Certification — a multi-domain evaluation assessing safe listening levels, listening clarity in noisy environments, intelligent support for varied listening scenarios, and the promotion of healthier long-term listening habits.

The launch arrives amid growing concern over pediatric hearing health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly one billion young people are at risk of preventable hearing loss caused by unsafe listening practices. Earlier this year, World Hearing Day 2026 focused specifically on childhood hearing loss as a public health priority, and research has shown that one in eight teens already shows signs of hearing damage by age 18.

SafeSound Technology and Hybrid ANC

At the core of the Q950 is iClever’s proprietary SafeSound technology, which incorporates an 80 dBA safe-volume limit alongside hearing-focused audio engineering. The headphones feature Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) delivering up to 35 dB of noise reduction — a design approach intended to help children hear clearly in noisy environments, such as classrooms, aircraft, or vehicles, without increasing playback volume.

The Q950 also supports active noise cancellation in AUX wired mode, a feature the company notes is uncommon in the children’s category. Additional features include Wear Detection with automatic play and pause, Transparency Mode, Bluetooth Audio Sharing, and up to 60 hours of battery life.

“Healthy listening habits begin with thoughtful product design,” says Dr Kellsie Busho, director of clinical programs for audiology, in a release. “By helping children hear more clearly in noisy environments without turning up the volume, the Q950 makes hearing protection a natural part of everyday life for families.”

Design and Durability

The Q950 received the 2026 Red Dot Award for Product Design. Its adjustable headband is designed to accommodate different head sizes as children grow, and breathable protein-leather ear cushions, premium sponge padding, and 90-degree rotating ear cups are intended to support comfort during extended listening sessions. Large, child-accessible controls aim to simplify everyday operation.

Structural durability is provided by a high-strength POK headband and reinforced metal hinges. The headphones have undergone SGS-certified 3,000-cycle twist testing and drop testing, which iClever says makes the Q950 suitable for school, travel, and home use.

Community Outreach and Hearing Advocacy

The Q950 launch builds on broader hearing health outreach efforts from iClever. The company partnered with Dr Busho to promote safe listening awareness during World Hearing Day 2026 and has donated more than 14,900 headphones to over 2,400 schools across the US.

The American Academy of Pediatrics has previously updated its policy statement on hearing risks for children, underscoring the clinical relevance of consumer-level hearing protection tools in the pediatric space.
