NAD Sues Netflix Over Lack of Captions on Video Streaming Service

The National Association of the Deaf (NAD), a civil rights organization representing deaf and individuals with hearing loss, announced the filing of a major federal lawsuit against Netflix for violating the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by failing to provide closed captioning for most of its “Watch Instantly” movies and television streamed on the Internet.

HLAA Picks JFK Center for National Access Award

The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) will present its National Access Award to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts during HLAA’s Convention 2011. The convention is being held at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, June 16 to 19, in Arlington, Va.
