Audiology Systems, in partnership with Otometrics, invites you to a 7-hour EP course. This is a one-day course designed to assist new users of the ICS Chartr EP 200 system in becoming more familiar with the system’s operation. For current users, this course will allow you to stay up-to-date with the advances in EP testing.  Key training areas include frequency specific threshold assessment techniques troubleshooting practicum, and using EP to assess the dizzy patient.

Description

A discussion and demonstration will be provided on how the ICS Chartr EP 200 system is utilized for evoked potentials.  The basics of evoked potentials will be reviewed along with a discussion of threshold assessment in both ABR and ASSR.  A hands-on practicum of both ABR and ASSR will follow.  An overview and exploration of the use of evoked potentials with the dizzy patient will be presented including ECochG, and VEMP.  A hands-on practicum regarding the dizzy patient will follow.  The day will end with a review of frequently asked questions regarding all aspects of evoked potentials.  The benefits of the use of evoked potentials to both the clinician and patient will be presented.

Learner outcomes

  • Participants will be able to demonstrate patient preparation and set up for collection of auditory evoked potential data.
  • Participants will be able to describe auditory evoked potential theory in order to collect and properly identify waveforms, including ABR and ASSR.
  • Participants will be able to demonstrate collection of ABR and ASSR waveforms.
  • Participants will be able to describe the use of auditory evoked potential theory in assessing the dizzy patient, including ECochG and VEMP.
  • Participants will be able to demonstrate collection of auditory evoked potentials in assessing the dizzy patient, including ECochG and VEMP.
  • Participants will be able to troubleshoot and manipulate auditory evoked potential protocols as well as manage patient records.
