Audina Hearing Instruments Inc, Longwood, Fla, has announced the release of its Octane family of super power BTEs. According to the company, the new Octane hearing instrument is able to generate 148dBs of output and 88dB maximum gain, and is available in a 4, 6, or 12 channel configuration. Using a customized dual receiver, the Octane is said to achieve these power levels while maintaining stable performance free of feedback.

Audina reports that standard features in the Octane include low-level expansion, adaptive feedback cancellation, adaptive directional microphones (6 and 12 channel only), voice prompts, up to 4 memories, and 12 compression channels. The elegant case design provides the smallest possible packaging while still utilizing a 675 battery.
