Bose has appointed its first female CEO, Lila Snyder, according to an article in Engadget. Snyder will take over for former CEO Bill Hess on September 1, 2020.
Engadget reports that Snyder’s most recent role was as president of global e-commerce at Pitney Bowes. She’s also worked for McKinsey, and has an MA and PhD in mechanical engineering from MIT.
“We weren’t simply looking for the next qualified person to lead us,” said Bose Chairman Bob Maresca, in a CNET article. “We wanted the absolute best person, no matter how long the search took. Lila’s background, experience, track record, and values are right for Bose, for the exceptional people who work here, and for our amazing customers who count on us every day.”
