The virtual conference features “an all-star cast of international guest speakers who will share the latest findings related to hearing health and a person’s social-emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being.”
Select speakers and topics include:
- Dr Julia Sarant, Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne, on the effects of hearing aid use and cognitive function.
- Dr Barbara Weinstein, Professor at The City University of New York (CUNY), on hearing loss, social isolation, and loneliness—especially during COVID-19.
- A panel discussion on the importance of a heightened vigilance for patient well-being featuring Drs Gabrielle Saunders, John Creer Clark, Kris English, and Joe Montano.
“Hearing loss is highly prevalent, but its impact on multiple dimensions of well-being remains underestimated,” said Stacey Rich, manager of audiology leadership and training for Phonak. “That’s why we’re so excited to host this event. We believe that hearing well fosters easier engagement and stronger social connections, supports cognitive fitness, and enables people to live a more active and healthier lifestyle.”
The online event will be available from May 30 with a Live Q&A session on Wednesday, June 2 from 5:00-6:00 PM EDT, however registrants can access the event on demand until August 31, 2021. For more information, please visit the Phonak registration page or email questions to: [email protected].
