GN’s AI-powered hearing aid portfolio, including new bimodal options designed to work with Cochlear Nucleus sound processors, is now accessible to veterans at VA audiology sites of care nationwide.

GN has announced that ReSound Sensia, its AI-powered hearing aid line, is now available to US veterans through Department of Veterans Affairs audiology clinics and sites of care nationwide.

ReSound Sensia was launched in the US in August and is built on GN’s new AI platform. The device features Intelligent All-Around, a sound processing approach designed to help users focus on a target voice even in noisy environments. The technology combines environmental classification, 4-microphone directional beamforming, and Deep Neural Network (DNN) noise reduction to automatically support clearer listening.

“Veterans often have unique hearing needs, and they deserve the latest technology that helps them join in on the moments that matter most to them without worrying about missing the conversations,” says Bob Eastman, vice president of ReSound Government Services, in a release. “ReSound Sensia provides proven technology that automatically raises the voices that they want to hear, not simply the loudest noise in the room.”

Broad Portfolio for VA Audiologists

The ReSound Sensia portfolio available through the VA includes rechargeable and battery-powered Receiver-in-Ear (RIE) options as well as custom-made styles, giving VA audiologists a range of fitting options to address veterans’ individual hearing needs.

ReSound Sensia is designed to recognize changing sound environments and automatically activate relevant features without requiring users to make manual adjustments on the devices or within the ReSound Smart 3D app. This positions the platform as a low-burden option for veterans who may be new to amplification or who prefer a more hands-off listening experience.

This latest VA availability follows a pattern of GN bringing its flagship lines to the veteran population, including the ReSound Vivia and ReSound Nexia platforms, which were previously made available through VA audiology clinics.

New Bimodal Options Expand Fitting Flexibility

Alongside the broader Sensia portfolio, GN is introducing ReSound Sensia Bimodal and ReSound Enzo IA Bimodal, both designed to work with Cochlear Nucleus sound processors for a seamless bimodal hearing experience.

The move reflects the ongoing collaboration between GN and Cochlear through the Smart Hearing Alliance, which the two companies have continued to expand in recent years.
