The custom in-the-ear hearing aid was recognized for its design, which integrates performance, connectivity, and a precision fit.
Phonak has announced that its Virto R Infinio has been named an Innovative Product Winner in the 2026 BIG Innovation Awards. The award recognizes the custom in-the-ear hearing aid for combining the company’s Infinio technology, universal connectivity, and a precision custom fit into a rechargeable design.
According to the company, the Virto R Infinio was developed to address historical compromises in the custom hearing aid category related to performance, power, and connectivity. The device integrates sound quality, speech understanding, and connectivity features into a discreet form factor.
A key feature of the device is Phonak’s proprietary RightFit customization process. This approach considers both the unique anatomy and acoustic characteristics of an individual’s ear to create a precision-crafted device that enhances comfort and performance.
“This award is proof that Virto R Infinio is creating an entirely new category in custom hearing,” says Oliver Frank, vice president Phonak marketing, in a release. “By eliminating long-standing compromises, we’ve changed how people experience and perceive custom hearing aids from something to hide to something they’re proud to wear. This recognition validates our ambition to change expectations and to elevate hearing from a medical device to a confident lifestyle choice.”
The BIG Innovation Awards, presented by the Business Intelligence Group, recognized 159 winners across multiple industries, including healthcare, financial services, and enterprise technology. The program is evaluated by business leaders and practitioners.
