HR Archives | August 1994 Hearing Review
By David A. Preves

This August 1994 article published by David Preves, at that time the VP of Research at Argosy Electronics, provides information on the extra gain provided by completely-in-the-canal (CIC), in-the-canal (ITC), and in-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids and looks at the difference in 2cc coupler measurements. Among the reported benefits of CIC hearing aids relative to the other types were reduced acoustic feedback, reduced occlusion, and increased real-ear acoustic gain, particularly in the high frequencies.
