EarTechnology Corporation (EarTech), a Tennessee-based company that produces the Dry & Store family of products for hearing instruments, has announced the launch of DryDome®, a moisture control and drying device designed for hearing instrument care.
According to EarTech, distortion, intermittency, volume fluctuations and related problems are often the result of moisture build-up, rather than a hearing instrument defect. Moisture can also cause corrosion of battery contacts, hinges, and other mechanical components over time, further hindering performance. The company reports that the most common reasons for repairs are moisture and earwax.
With these issues in mind, EarTech created DryDome. Strictly a drying device, EarTech says that DryDome is a convection dryer with an economical price point, making it suitable for bundling–the company suggests providing an electronic dryer with each hearing aid dispensed.
Powered by a micro-USB, the DryDome’s compact size (3.45 inches in diameter) is intended to provide gentle convection heat to effectively remove moisture from hearing instruments with no need for desiccant or chemicals.
The solid state DryDome comes with a 2-year warranty.
