The third Virtual Phonak Audiology Conference is scheduled for May 12 to 13.
 
Since Stäfa, Switzerland-based Phonak launched its successful virtual conference series in 2007, more than 2,000 participants worldwide have had access to presentations of renowned international speakers, chats with experts, and recorded material.
 
The upcoming conference will focus on the following topics:
 
Frequency compression: Interesting research and clinical data and cases studies will be presented. Key presenters will be Prof Hugh McDermott, Prof Susan Scolli, Andrea Bohnert, Josephine Marriage, Dr Joshua Alexander, Dr Myriel Nyffeler, and Dr Michael Boretzki.
 
Future developments in audiology and amplification: An interesting mix of topics such as relationship-centered counseling, brain plasticity in children, correct interpretation of ABR threshold tests, hearing loss prevention, interventions for musicians, factors affecting speech intelligibility of hearing-impaired listeners are among the topics that will be presented by internationally renowned speakers such as Dr Anu Sharma, Dr Teresa Ching, Prof Kathy Pichora Fuller, Dr Kris English, Dr Edilene Boechat, Sarah Hogan, Jacque Stroke, Dr Dave Fabry, Dr Guy Lightfoot, Dr Brian Fligor, and Dr Michael Valente.
