The International Hearing Society (IHS) will hold its 59th Annual Convention and Expo from September 29 to October 2 at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Fla.

The meeting will host more than 500 attendees, including hearing instrument practitioners, audiologists, audioprosthologists, board certified dispensers, and other allied health professionals. Attending professionals will have the chance to further their continuing education in specialty areas such as infection control, aural rehabilitation, federal dispensing laws, amplification, verification and validation, modern hearing aids, and to participate in sessions focusing on the four principles of motivational interviewing.

The IHS says its annual convention is the largest gathering of hearing instrument professionals in the nation. The meeting focuses on the latest research and technological advances in the field. During the 4-day event, 16 hours of continuing education will be offered, as well as the annual membership meeting, the chapter leadership conference, the licensing board meeting, exhibit hall showcases, and the grand finale event, which takes place at the Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The conference, which officially opens on September 29, includes 15 seminars and exhibit booths representing more than 40 manufacturers.

IHS is a professional association representing hearing care providers worldwide.
