Top-performing practices in AHAA’s nationwide network received Centers of Excellence awards at the annual convention in February.  The top President’s Cup award went to Marty Layne, AuD Marty Layne Associates, Scarborough, Me. A record crowd of nearly 450 network associates and exhibitors attended the 13th annual convention of American Hearing Aid Associates, West Chester, Pa, held recently at Opryland in Nashville, Tenn.

The introduction of AHAA’s new Navigator Web site for associates created a stir. The site gives associates state-of-the-art tools for assessing the business health of their practice and executing strategies to boost its value.  

The program offered some 40 professional development topics segmented in five tracks for owners/CEOs, directors of operations/practice managers, hearing health care providers, practice development representatives, and telemarketers/front office personnel.

It focused on how to increase practice revenue and profits, with an emphasis on making sales techniques more effective, enhancing management skills, and developing referrals. The agenda featured the latest business insights, trends, and practices that could be implemented immediately in any practice.

Attendees gave a thumbs up for the program’s scope, relevance, and immediate practical applications.

Several AHAA top executives were among the key speakers, including CEO Vince Russomagno and president Tina Soika. Major hearing aid manufacturers and software vendors exhibited their wares, and 10 of them gave program presentations.
