Do you often feel that you waste energy trying to persuade your patients to change behavior, with questionable results? Patient motivation is critical for implementing the recommendations made by the audiologist. However, it can be difficult to determine the patient’s state of readiness for change and to create a dialogue with patients to enhance their motivation.
Ida Institute, Naerum, Denmark, will hold a Motivational Engagement Workshop on November 22 in partnership with the Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY), to explore this topic and to introduce Ida Learning Modules 1 and 2.
The 1-day workshop is CEU-accredited and open to all US hearing care professionals.
The interactive workshop will include:
- The Patient journey: Develop a new perspective for taking a case history
- The Lines, the Box, and the Circle: Learn how to uncover your patients’ motivations and prepare them for change
- Ida Institute Basics: Discuss adult learning principles as part of the rehabilitation process
The workshop will take place at the Graduate Center, CUNY, 365 Fifth Ave, New York, NY.
Interested professionals can register for the workshop at www.conferencemanager.dk/idainstituteCUNYworkshop. The workshop fee is $150 per participant and includes lunch and an Ida tool kit. A reduced fee of $75 is available to audiology students.
