Unitron, an advanced hearing solutions company based in Kitchener, Canada, has announced the appointment of hearing healthcare industry leader Jake Haycock to general manager of Unitron Canada, and the appointment of Rob Walesa to head of global customer experience.
According to the announcement, Haycock brings to Unitron Canada more than 10 years of industry experience, coupled with a strong track record in sales and leadership roles. Most recently, Haycock was vice president of sales and marketing for Oticon Canada with direct responsibility for Canadian sales performance. Prior to Oticon, Haycock held senior leadership positions as the president of Widex US, and president and CEO of Widex Canada.
“Jake is a terrific fit with the Unitron team,” said Jan Metzdorff, president of Unitron. “In addition to bringing to our Canadian group extensive industry experience and a strong track record for sales leadership, he also shares our passion to always do the right thing for the customer. I am confident our Canadian customers are in great hands.”
“I have watched the evolution of Unitron’s brand and have come to admire the company’s deep commitment to the customer experience. It is an approach very near and dear to my heart,” said Haycock. “I am truly looking forward to getting to know our Canadian customers better, and to leading the Unitron Canada organization through its next stage in growth.”
Rob Walesa is a 20-year veteran of the Unitron organization, according to the company, most recently serving as the general manager of Unitron Canada, where he provided leadership in growing Unitron’s brand and market share. He is credited with establishing Unitron as a leader in the Canadian hearing healthcare marketplace. Prior to the general manager role, Walesa held successive senior roles within the Unitron organization, overseeing the company’s product management organization and product roadmap, and expanding Unitron’s presence in the United States, Asia, and the Southern Hemisphere.
“Providing the best service and best experience for our customers is a core focus of our strategy,” said Bruce Brown, vice president of corporate marketing for Unitron. “It impacts each and every person in the Unitron organization and is translated through each of our customer touch points. Rob’s intimate understanding of the Unitron culture, his passion for our customer, his legacy with the company, and his experience working in our global marketplace come together to make him the right person at the right time to lead our customer experience journey.”
“Customer experience has been my passion for as long as I’ve been at Unitron,” said Walesa. “To be able to lead this initiative and influence such a big part of our strategy at a global level is irresistible. I am looking forward to building on the solid foundation laid by my former colleagues and by employees within our group companies to further advance Unitron’s leadership reputation for customer experience around the world.”
