The British Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association is inviting hearing care professionals across the UK and Ireland to participate in its 2026 audiologist survey, with findings slated for publication later this year.

The British Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (BIHIMA) has opened its 2026 audiologist survey, calling on hearing care professionals working across all practice settings in the UK and Ireland to share their experiences as the sector continues to evolve.

The survey builds on a series of previous annual editions — including the 2024/2025 report, which spotlighted growing patient demand, workforce pressures, and the need for system-wide reform — and is designed to establish a longitudinal view of the challenges and opportunities shaping audiology practice over time.

Tracking Progress Across Key Issues

A central aim of the 2026 survey is continuity. By revisiting core questions from prior editions, BIHIMA intends to measure how the audiology landscape has shifted and identify where meaningful progress has occurred. The organization says this longitudinal approach will help build a more durable evidence base to inform ongoing conversations around service delivery, innovation, and patient care.

Alongside those recurring questions, the 2026 survey introduces new lines of inquiry reflecting emerging areas of the field — including the latest technological developments in hearing devices, strategies for managing patient expectations, and evolving models of care.

Audiologists working in NHS services, independent practice, and retail settings in the UK and Ireland are all encouraged to participate.

Survey Findings to Be Published Later This Year

Results from the 2026 survey will be analyzed and released in a follow-up report later this year. BIHIMA says the findings are intended to support evidence-based discussions across the hearing care sector, drawing on direct input from clinicians working across the full spectrum of care settings.
