MedRx Inc’s AWRC includes wireless bluetooth probe mics and portable charging dock for hearing care providers
MedRx Inc, a U.S. based manufacturer and developer of computerized audiometric equipment specifically designed for the hearing care professional, announces the expansion of their audiometer and real ear verification product lines with the addition of the AWRC—a computer-powered audiometer and wireless REM combination system. According to the company, this is MedRx’s first wireless REM system, offering hearing care providers flexibility in their hearing aid fittings.
MedRx’s President, Caleb Sparkman, AuD, states that, “The AWRC is our most advanced system to date. We strove to create a product that had the ability to complete high frequency audiometry with the power from a USB cable. We also wanted to remove the restrictions that cables provide during real ear measurement. This lead us to two independent wireless REM probes—a true innovation to the industry. Anytime cables can be removed from an office is a good thing and we are excited to have these in clinics around the world.”
According to the company, MedRx Diagnostic’s AWRC includes features such as wireless Bluetooth probe microphones, high frequency testing up to 20,000Hz for audiometry, 12,500Hz for REM, and a portable charging dock in addition to all standard MedRx audiometer and verification features. Reportedly, like all MedRx computer-based equipment, the AWRC uses the MedRx Studio software suite to manage the equipment modules, providing a transition between testing and fitting screens during patient appointments.
“The ARWC allows for flexibility in clinic set up and functionality,” commented Amanda Kluzynski, AuD, CCC-A, ABAC, F-AAA of MedRx. “The wireless probe mics have great battery life with little battery drainage when not in use. The absence of wires on the probe mics also adds to the ease of use while reducing setup time in appointments. The AWRC works very well, producing crisp sounds and taking accurate recordings while performing Real Ear Measures.”
Company leaders say that the product is designed to reduce appointment times and increase efficiency—the AWRC’s features can be tailored to each practice, allowing the provider to customize their AWRC with the features that best align with their current needs and future goals.
The AWRC is currently available in the U.S. and select countries.
