It is important for hearing-impaired people worldwide to determine the precise benefit that can be received from using two cochlear implants, and the University of Iowa is asking for help in collecting data from patients with one or two cochlear implants.
Participants must be 18 years or older, in order to answer an online survey created to collect information, which takes about 15 minutes to complete. Names and identifying information will not be collected, and it will not be possible to link survey participants to their responses on the survey.
The survey can be accessed via the university’s Web site.
Questions about the survey can be directed to Camille Dunn via e-mail or by calling (319) 353-8776. For questions about the rights of research subjects, contact the Human Subjects Office, 300 College of Medicine Administration Building, The University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA 52242, (319) 335-6564, or by e-mail.
