The new ready-to-wear ITE device features the company’s Integrated Xperience platform in a small, rechargeable form factor.
Signia has announced the launch of Active Mini IX, a ready-to-wear in-the-ear (ITE) hearing aid that incorporates the full audiological performance of the Signia Integrated Xperience (IX) platform.
The device is designed to provide hearing care professionals (HCPs) with an instant-fit solution that offers connectivity and discreetness for patients. Active Mini IX utilizes two microphones to enable the full IX platform, bringing capabilities often found in larger hearing aids to a compact, ready-to-wear device.
“Discreet, ready-to-wear hearing aids have traditionally required trade-offs—whether in performance, connectivity, or comfort,” says Jose Alves, head of Signia, in a release. “For many patients, those limitations can stand in the way of hearing aid adoption. With Active Mini IX, we’re giving HCPs a new solution that delivers the ultimate balance of performance and discretion in an easy-to-use and ready-to-wear design.”
The core technology of Active Mini IX is the Integrated Xperience platform, which includes RealTime Conversation Enhancement to track and enhance multiple speakers as conversations shift. The two-microphone directional system supports speech understanding in complex listening environments.
The ready-to-wear form factor allows HCPs to conduct same-day fittings without the need for custom molds. According to internal studies from the company, 97% of respondents reported satisfaction with the device’s comfort. The Signia Assistant feature is also included to support patient satisfaction between appointments.
The Active Mini IX is rechargeable and provides up to 21 hours of runtime, with fast-charging capabilities. It also offers full connectivity for streaming calls, music, and media from both iPhone and Android devices.
“With Active Mini IX, we’re delivering fully featured audiological performance in the smallest ready-to-wear ITE on the market,” Alves adds in the release. “It reflects our continued focus on expanding the IX platform across form factors—equipping HCPs to bring its speech understanding and conversation performance to more patients, in the designs they want to wear.”
Active Mini IX will be available in all performance levels in Garnet Black, Rose Gold, and Pearl White. It is compatible with streaming accessories, including TV Sound and StreamLine Mic.
