Sertoma Inc, Kansas City, Mo, announces a call for applications for the 2009 Sertoma Scholarships for Hearing Impaired Students, a national scholarship program offering a dozen $1,000 scholarships to US students who have a minimum 40dB bilateral hearing loss.
The funds may be used for any school-related expenses, such as tuition, books, and supplies during any academic term, including summer term.
The scholarships are made possible through a donation from Oticon Pediatrics, Somerset, NJ, a long-time supporter of the educational initiatives of Sertoma, one of the oldest civic service clubs in the United States promoting civic responsibility through community service.
The deadline for application is May 1. For more information about the scholarship program and to download an application, visit www.sertoma.org.
