Audiology Systems, a US distributor of GN Otometrics products such as Aurical, Madsen, and ICS, as well as other leading audiology and vestibular equipment, announced new dates for a series of training courses designed to help clinicians and hearing care professionals maximize the use of hearing and balance instrumentation. According to the announcement, course attendees can earn from 0.4 to 2.1 CEUs.

Audiology Systems reports that on September 23, 2015, a 7-hour hands-on evoked potential (EP) training course will provide in-depth training on frequency specific threshold assessment techniques, a troubleshooting practicum, and instruction on using EP to assess both the auditory and vestibular systems. Course details for EP training can be viewed on the Audiology Systems website.

On September 24, 2015, a 7-hour hands-on VNG/ENG training course will address the advances in VNG/ENG. Clinicians who perform VNG/ENG testing benefit from ongoing training that will enable them to apply the new technology to existing procedures. Key training areas of this course include test protocol development, data interpretation and presentation, and reporting test results. “Building on the educational foundation that ICS established over many years, we now offer more courses for hearing care professionals to increase the knowledge and skills in hearing and balance care,” said Kathleen Hill, AuD, audiology education manager at Audiology Systems. For more than a decade, we have partnered with renowned balance expert, Dr Kamran Barin, to bring you “The Barin Course,” our comprehensive vestibular course.”

On October 14-16, 2015, balance expert, Kamran Barin, PhD, facilitates the VNG/ENG Course (known as “The Barin Course”). This comprehensive 3-day course will provide practical information necessary to make the VNG/ENG test, video head impulse, and other commonly used vestibular tests an effective part of the diagnostic process. When combined with the 4-hour Impulse training (October 16), attendees can earn up to 2.1 CEUs. By using the promo code PASS, attendees who register for the full 3-day course by August 31, 2015 will qualify for a complimentary pass to bring a colleague. View promotion and course details on the VNG Course page on the Audiology Systems website.

October 23, 2015, audiology development manager Wendy Switalski will provide 7 hours of hands-on training focusing on the practical application of probe microphone measurements and the Aurical hearing instrument test box.
