Frye Electronics, Tigard, Ore, reports that it recently became the sole manufacturer of the ANL (Acceptable Noise Level) disk, which was orginially developed at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tenn.
The program, which requires a two-channel audiometer such as the FONIX FA-10, advises dispensers in 2 to 3 minutes on the likelihood of whether a customer is a good candidate for a hearing aid. Those who do not do well on this test will probably need special help and a hearing aid with good noise reduction and directionality, says the company.
The company purchased the rights from Cosmos Distributing.
