In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Westone Laboratories Inc, Colorado Springs, Colo, is donating more than $8,600 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® to help research the cause, prevention, and cure of breast cancer. The company had committed to donating a percentage of impression material sales for the month.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual international health campaign dedicated to increasing awareness of breast cancer issues. Since its inception in 1985, mammography rates have significantly increased and breast cancer deaths have declined.

More than 182,000 women will be affected by breast cancer in 2008.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a worldwide grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, fights to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all, and energize science to find cures. The organization has invested more than $1 billion, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world, the company says.
