Sonova Holding AG, a provider of hearing solutions based in Stäfa, Switzerland, has announced that its Board of Directors nominates Lynn Dorsey Bleil as a new board member for election at the next Annual General Meeting in June 2016. The company also announced that John J. Zei will retire at the same time from the Board since he has reached the mandatory retirement age.
Bleil, a US citizen, recently retired as a senior partner from McKinsey & Company in the US after more than 25 years of advising senior management and boards of leading healthcare companies on corporate and business unit strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and public policy across all segments of healthcare. Bleil has been a non-executive director at DST Systems since 2014, and Stericycle since 2015. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Princeton University, and a master’s in business administration from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
“Ms. Bleil’s extensive experience in Healthcare Management Consulting will bring valuable strategic perspectives to Sonova,” said Robert F. Spoerry, chairman of the Board of Directors of Sonova Holding AG. “We look forward to her successful election and believe she will be a strong addition to the Board.”
Spoerry added, “I want to sincerely thank John Zei for his remarkable support, leadership and numerous contributions to the company over the last 6 years. His vast experience, deep understanding of the hearing aid industry, and his dedication to Sonova were highly beneficial over his tenure. We all wish him well for the future.”
Zei served in numerous leadership roles in the hearing industry, including CEO of Knowles Electronics from 2000-2010. An attorney with an MBA from the University of Chicago, Zei also played crucial roles in many aspects of the Hearing Industries Assn (HIA) while serving in leadership positions at Rexton, Beltone, and Siemens.
