Oticon employees gathered to celebrate retiring Oticon President Peer Lauritsen and to welcome new President Gary Rosenblum at a company-wide celebration held on October 6, 2016 at Oticon US headquarters in Somerset, NJ. The day featured a variety of special tributes and salutes to mark the corporate transition. International concert artist Hanne Dollase sang the Danish national anthem and local government officials presented an official proclamation that declared October 6 as “Peer Lauritsen Day.”
Both Lauritsen and Rosenblum accepted hundreds of handshakes and well wishes as each embarked on a new journey. For Rosenblum, the journey will be one that builds on the solid foundation of innovation, quality and customer support that Lauritsen has helped to establish over his 40 years of service to Oticon.
Lauritsen’s journey will be a more literal one. He looks forward to traveling between his two “homelands,” Denmark and the US, and continuing to put People First – starting with time spent enjoying family and friends.
As previously reported in a July 8, 2016 Hearing Review article, Peer Lauritsen is a long-time champion of the vital role of hearing care professionals, and a respected industry leader known for his unwavering commitment to putting the needs of people with hearing loss first. When Lauritsen joined Oticon Inc in 1974, the US business offered only a small selection of analog and power hearing aids. Today, the US is one of the biggest and most important markets for Oticon and offers the hearing industry a comprehensive product portfolio.
