As a physician and medical executive, Dr Georgiou remains the hearing industry’s “first and only Chief Health Officer,” according to Starkey. Working to improve the wellness and quality of life for people with hearing loss, she leads the strategy behind integrating embedded sensors in hearing aids to help patients with their overall healthcare management. In addition to the Women in Business award, Dr Georgiou has won two Silver Stevie Awards for co-founding the University of Minnesota’s COVID-19 Hospitalization Tracking Project.  She has also won the Innovations That Inspire Award by AACSB International, a business education network. In 2018, Dr Georgiou was named Mentor of the Year by the Medical Industry Leadership Institute at the Carlson School of Management. In 2014, she won the Champion Award, where she was recognized by Minnesota Business Healthcare Leaders as an individual who has elevated the state’s healthcare industry.

“I am so honored to have been chosen for this recognition by the Minneapolis/St Paul Business Journal,” said Dr Georgiou. “Given my background and experience, I am incredibly passionate about raising awareness about the connection between better hearing and improved overall health outcomes.
