Starkey announced that it has been named one of the Top Workplaces in Minnesota by the Star Tribune. The Star Tribune 2022 Top Workplaces program recognizes the most progressive workplaces in Minnesota. Decisions are based on employee opinions measuring engagement, organizational health, and satisfaction. This year’s Top Workplaces survey analysis included responses from more than 79,000 employees, and more than 4,000 Minnesota public, private, and nonprofit organizations were invited to participate, according to the announcement.

“Starkey is a great place to work because of the passion and care consistently demonstrated by our Starkey Family, not only here in Minnesota, but around the world. This recognition reflects the dedication they bring to work each day,” said Starkey President and CEO Brandon Sawalich. “I want to personally thank every individual on the Starkey team for their commitment to caring, which has always been at the core of everything we do. Thanks to you, we’ve created an atmosphere that attracts the best and brightest in the hearing industry, allowing Starkey to continue its long tradition of helping people be connected to the moments and people they love most.”

The survey for the Starkey Star Tribune award consisted of 24 questions covering seven areas of organizational health factors to gauge how well employees are working toward a common cause. Those areas include measuring employees’ views on alignment of their company’s overall direction, its values, and cooperation; effectiveness of doing things well, sharing different viewpoints, and encouraging new ideas; employees’ level of connection in feeling appreciated and that their work is meaningful; and employee engagement measures of loyalty, motivation, and willingness to refer their company to others. Other factors include gauging the level of confidence in company leaders; respondents’ views on their manager’s effectiveness and engagement in their employees’ development; and assessing employee benefits, pay, and overall work environment.

“At Starkey, we’ve built a culture around our core values of being caring, fearless, and dedicated,” said Jessica Perez, Chief People Officer and Executive Vice President of Culture. “We are devoted to supporting our employees and our customers with resources to help them succeed. This recognition further proves that we are not only leading the industry in hearing health and wellness, but also creating an environment based on caring, kindness and helping others.”
