The Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) announced it is now accepting Letter of Intent submissions for the 2020 Student Business Plan Competition. The ADA states that “if you have an entrepreneurial spirit and an interest in private-practice ownership or audiology clinic management, this is the competition for you!”

The deadline to submit a letter of intent is May 26, 2020. Contestants must be members of the Student Academy of Doctors of Audiology (SADA) in good standing and must be enrolled at an accredited university at some time during calendar year 2020 (2020 graduates are encouraged to participate).

Finalists will receive an all-expense paid trip to the AuDacity Conference at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center November 2-4, 2020 in Grapevine, Texas, where they will present their business plans in person. In the event that the conference is unable to be held due to public health concerns, the presentations will be conducted virtually.

The Grand Prize Winner/Team will receive a $5,000 ADA cash grant to be used to advance business objectives and enhance business and leadership skills.

Business plans will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Creativity
  • Feasibility
  • Completeness
  • Cohesiveness
  • Professionalism
  • Guidelines

Prior to submitting an intent to participate, please review eligibility requirements and submission guidelines. The letter of intent must be completed no later than 5:00 pm Eastern Time on Tuesday, May 26th, 2020. The system will close at 5:00 pm Eastern Time, and no submissions will be received after that deadline. Please note that the first deliverable, the Executive Summary, is due on June 1, 2020, so it is advisable to submit your letter of intent prior to the May 26 deadline.

ADA is grateful to Amplifon for its commitment to underwrite the 2020 ADA Student Business Plan Competition.
