GN Hearing has announced the launch of ReSound LiNX 3D™, which is designed to take Smart Hearing to new levels and enable people with hearing loss to hear more, do more, and be more anywhere in life, the company said on their website.
The company reports that its comprehensive ecosystem seamlessly connects hearing aids, all wireless accessories, and smartphone apps to make everything work together. With the introduction of ReSound LiNX 3D and the ReSound Smart Fit™ software, an entirely new hearing care experience is made possible. The new hearing care solution also offers remote fine-tuning and remote hearing aid updates enabled by GN’s proprietary and secure cloud solution. After an initial fit in the clinic, the user can request assistance for any fine-tuning of their settings wherever they are. The hearing care professional can make all fine-tunings remotely to provide a better hearing experience for the user, according to GN.
The new ReSound LiNX 3D, the corresponding Beltone Trust™ hearing aids, and the new cloud integration are designed to offer unprecedented benefits to hearing aid users and to hearing care professionals across three key dimensions:
Sound quality. With ReSound LiNX 3D—GN Hearing’s 5th-generation 2.4 GHz wireless technology and 3rd-generation binaural directionality— hearing aid users will experience excellent sound quality and will hear more than they ever thought possible, says the company. ReSound LiNX 3D delivers clear, natural sound, exceptional speech understanding, and the best sense of where sounds are coming from. Users will experience 360-degree audibility and awareness in quiet and speech-only situations, improved hearing in noise when speech is in the front, and optimized audibility of surrounding sounds.
New fitting software and user app. Together with audiologists, GN Hearing has developed a more efficient and intuitive fitting software, which simplifies the process where the hearing care professional fits and adjusts the hearing aid to the user. This faster and more convenient wireless fitting will save time for both the user and the hearing care professional. It gives hearing care professionals more time for valuable user counseling.
Additionally, a new app allows users to easily personalize and control their sound at any time on-the-go directly from a smartphone (iPhone, Apple Watch, and selected Android models). The app empowers users to take even more control of their hearing experience through a built-in guidance and coaching feature, and gives users direct access to their hearing care professional for efficient optimization without the need for an appointment in a clinic.
Teleaudiology: Hearing care wherever you are. ReSound LiNX 3D is reportedly the only device with complete remote fine-tuning capabilities that allows users to stay in touch with their hearing care professional wherever they are, receiving hearing care and getting new settings via the cloud without having to schedule and travel for a clinic appointment. The unique cloud integration enables hearing care professionals to stay connected with users no matter where they are. Users will be able to share feedback about any hearing difficulty as the situation occurs, rather than trying to remember how to describe it during an adjustment visit to the clinic. Hearing care professionals will have the freedom to offer follow-up services remotely—saving time for both hearing care professionals and users, and creating opportunities for even higher user satisfaction.
“GN Hearing is thrilled to introduce a quantum leap in sound technologies that will enable users to hear more than they ever thought possible,” said Anders Hedegaard, CEO of GN Hearing in a press statement. “We are excited to deliver completely new dimensions in hearing care that all leads to a better hearing experience for the user and empowers the hearing care professional to better serve their clients. ReSound LiNX 3D transforms the hearing care industry, meets the modern user’s high demands for superb sound quality, and fulfills our company purpose of making life sound better.”
ReSound LiNX 3D—and the corresponding Beltone Trust™—will launch in all primary markets around the world with a full product family in the Top and Plus performance levels.

I just returned my right aid to the Veterans Admin for repairs because the earpiece shattered when I dropped it. I have been having much difficulty getting them to connect with my Iphone in the AM. Even though I have replaced the batteries I still get an alert that says I need another new one and that the phone cannot connect. Day after day of this makes me want to get rid of them.
I am from KL malaysia and been asking my hearing aid supplier top hearing sdn bhd but they have no idea when the link 3D will be launch in malaysia . I am
Trilled with the new technology and want to switch from widex to the new one .
Can you share when you plan to launch it in malaysia ?
Appreciate you can laugh it quickly
Hi. I am trialing the Linx3D hearing aids right now. Have to make a decision tomorrow.
I have found I “notice” them more than my old Oticons… I presume that’s programming? My hearing gets worse as the frequencies go up, and I’ve found that certain noises (mashing silverware together for instance) are VERY loud.
I presume this is just fine tuning with the programming, right?
As far as the iPhone connectivity – I find it great. I can even walk into another room, and the streaming music doesn’t glitch. The Oticon Opns I trialed before this were awful at streaming, if the phone was in my back pocket, the audio would go in and out. This works much better.
There is ONE thing I’d like for the streaming audio, though – more bass. When I listen to music through it, I don’t hear much bass, even after turning on the bass boost via the app. Is this something that can be adjusted via programming?
Thanks!
I had original linx receiver devices. I really bought into the iPhone thing but after connectivity issues I ended up deleting them from my phone and just using them like regular aids. They worked quite well as aids but I was disappointed with the app. I am
currently trialling the new linx 9 3D devices. Unfortunately I am still experiencing the same connection glitches and the aids don’t seem any better than my original Linx. I think I will be returning these to
My Aud and will look at some other options. Can’t justify the cost for such little real world improvement in my case.
My fitting was this afternoon. Because I have so much hair, which repeatedly brushed against the behind the ear model, I opted for the in-ear version. The Audiologist had me download the ReSound app to my iPhone and make a call with the LiNX 3Ds in place—the sound was crystal clear. I just wish I didn’t have to wait two weeks to hear like that again. (I will take the cleaning suggestions from earlier posts to heart,)
I’m 2 weeks into my linx2 9’s. I’m enjoying them and the use of my iPhone is really helping me. However I am a tech head and always want the latest model of whatever I have, so I’ve spoken to my guy at amplifon and he has agreed to order a pair of 3D for me to test and pay the difference here in the uk market if I think I would benefit from the 3D over the linx2 9’s. I love to have creative control on my iPhone so I’m guessing I should be happy with the swap. I have imbalanced hearing loss, my left being more severe then my right.
Well, having used first Siemens (2 years awaiting improvements) and now Resound Linx hearing aids (love them) now for 3 years I can indeed appreciate this recent advance. If the user don’t care to maintain their instruments that’s “humanly correct” since not all understand the necessity nor have the standards to do so. This is true with most things in life.
hi i have been using siemens hearing since last 5years and my audiologist recently said about gn resound linx 3d , he said it would work fine with my iphone , though I cant have the iic option I am thinking of moving to linx 3d CIC shortly. May i know more about ur experience ? i also have imbalanced hearing left being severe than right
Good improvements. However I have noted that patients at follow up /adjustments do not comply much with reciver clean ups and filter changes. Keeping this in mind, to adjust aids with use of an app may only increase frustration levels when at some later point the domes are cleaned and now the settings are different. Sorry, when the human angle is still the issue, this method is definitely not advisable as it could lead to returns when the patient loses faith in the system.
The first four adjustments are mandated in the office to ensure that the patient is well trained, and understands when an adjustment is necessary. The remote function may be a better alternative until the patient reaches the office.
I have to agree almost all of the “weak” or “dead” hearing aids are due to patients not cleaning/changing filters.
I saw a patient earlier even though I instructed her to change them on the 1st of every month changes them when the aid dies!
I asked if she changed her car’s oil filter when the engine siezes? Faceplant
