My World,” a free pediatric counseling tool designed to help children talk about their hearing loss offered by the Ida Institute, helps enable children to express themselves and uncovers information about a child’s communication patterns.

The Ida Institute announced that it will now offer My World as a free app for use on tablets. The easy-to-use app is said to allow children to recreate their day and talk about how they communicate in different environments—at home, on the playground, or in the classroom–by populating the spaces with friends, family, and the things they enjoy.

Using My World in an appointment is said to help children openly express their feelings and try out new communication and coping strategies in the safe environment of make believe.

My World is developed in collaboration with audiologists and rooted in evidence-based methodologies of play therapy and narrative counseling. Download it in the Apple App or Google Play stores.
