MAICO Diagnostics and Interacoustics, with US headquarters in Minneapolis, have announced an agreement to offer a full line of hearing testing medical devices to Novation, which includes the two national health care alliances of VHA Inc and UHC, Children’s Hospital Association (an alliance of the nation’s leading pediatric facilities), and Provista LLC. Novation will be able to purchase a wide variety of audiometric medical devices from the two companies effective immediately.
MAICO Diagnostics has been serving hearing care professionals with screening devices since 1937. According to the company, the agreement includes several of MAICO’s screening and impedance products, including the MB 11 ABR newborn hearing screening device which uses patented CE-Chirp® stimulus designed to significantly reduce test times. Re-usable electrodes and an integrated earphone also means there are virtually no disposables, reducing medical waste and saving thousands in costs, says the company.
Interacoustics is a worldwide leader in diagnostic testing equipment. The Titan otoacoustic emissions, impedance, and ABR device offers a space saving hand-held design that can be customized to meet hospital needs.
