On August 26, Interacoustics celebrated its 50th anniversary, the company announced. According to the Denmark-based hearing and balance diagnostics assessment solutions provider, the birthday marks an important milestone.
“When the company started 50 years ago, the idea was to sell equipment to be used at schools for the deaf,” said Carsten Kind, president of Interacoustics. “Today, we have developed into a market leader in audiometry, advanced AEP systems, hearing aid fitting, and balance assessment equipment.”
Even though Interacoustics was founded in Denmark, the company has always had a global customer-centric mindset.
“One of the founders was American and located in New York from where he sold the equipment,” said Kind. “So from the beginning the US was a very important market for Interacoustics.”
Throughout the years, Interacoustics has expanded its business to all corners of the world, and today, it is represented in more than 100 countries through its own sales companies and external distributors.
According to Interacoustics, they will continue to evolve and come up with new solutions for their many customers.
“With our anniversary, we celebrate the past, but we also embrace the future,” said Kind. “Each day, we work closely together with researchers and universities to implement new technology in our products for the future benefit of hearing care professionals.”
