Paul H. Van de Heyning, MD, PhD, has been selected to deliver a keynote lecture at the American Cochlear Implant Alliance’s CI2025 Boston Conference on Cochlear Implants entitled “Single-Sided Deafness and Frequently Allocation in Cochlear Implantation.”

Dr Van de Heyning is emeritus professor and former dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Antwerp, as well as consultant and former chairman of the University Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery of the Antwerp University Hospital (UZA). His clinical expertise focuses on otology, neuro-otology and cochlear implants, and OSAS-hypoglossal nerve stimulation. He has published 650 peer-reviewed articles and has been the supervisor of 74 PhD theses.

He is the past president of CI2018 Antwerp, the 15th International Conference on Cochlear Implants and Other Implantable Auditory Technology. He is a founding member, past chair, and current vice-chair of HEARRING, an independent network of world leading centers and experts dealing with all aspects of hearing disorders. Dr Van de Heyning has also worked to advocate for hearing health as a founding member and board member of the Hearing Health Forum EU.
