This year’s Winter X-Games Kick-Off Bash benefits Boarding for Breast Cancer, and Able Planet, Wheat Ridge, Colo, will continue its extreme sports-focused “i am able” campaign by launching pink-colored units of its award-winning True Fidelity® foldable active noise cancelling headphones.

For every purchase of the pink “extreme” headphones, debuting at the Kick-Off Bash, Able Planet will contribute 10% of sales to various breast cancer treatment initiatives nationwide.

Winner of the CES Innovation award in electronic gaming, the headphones feature patented Linx Audio® technology with optimum sound quality and clarity for use at home, office, or travel worldwide. State-of-the-art noise cancellation, style, and comfort offer hearing- and non hearing-impaired listeners alike a crisp, clear listening experience, whether applying the headphones for gaming, walking, running, training, commuting, telecom, travel, or leisure.

For this initial event, proceeds from pink headphone sales will go to Boarding for Breast Cancer, a nonprofit breast cancer awareness organization founded by leaders in extreme sports. Able Planet’s new line of headphones will hit the market this March, and purchases of the special pink headphones will benefit breast cancer initiatives for the entire year.

“The X-Games offers a perfect venue for Able Planet to reach its target audience while aligning our product with a cause we care dearly about,” said Kevin Semcken, Able Planet CEO. “Boarding for Breast Cancer is an organization that engages youths in an extremely relevant and worthwhile cause, and aligning ourselves with that cause is a great way to continue our mission of social awareness and giving back to the community.”

Boarding for Breast Cancer is a nonprofit, youth-focused education, awareness, and fundraising foundation. Its mission is to increase awareness about breast cancer, the importance of early detection, and the value of an active lifestyle. Cofounded by four action sports athletes, the organization directs its message at the action sports community, those who practice an active lifestyle through snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing.

Taking place Wednesday, January 27, 2011 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the St Regis Hotel in Aspen, Colo, the Winter X-Games Kick-Off Bash will feature live musical performances by Lord Jamar (of Brand Nubian) and Mick Kelleher (of MK&THE GENTLEMEN) among others. Attendees get the chance to mingle with Winter X-Games athletes such as Tucker Hibbert and Sarah Burke, win prizes such as an exclusive Winter X-Games Special Guest Experience, and enjoy gourmet appetizers, wine, and specialty drinks.

Net proceeds from the event will benefit the V Foundation for Cancer Research and Boarding for Breast Cancer.
