Have tinnitus patients in Iowa? The University of Iowa (UI) is compiling a registry of patients for various studies that will examine a method for testing tinnitus and is seeking individuals to participate.

To be eligible, individuals must fit the following criteria:

  • Between 18 and 70 years old and have tinnitus that does not change from day to day
  • Have had tinnitus for 5 years or less.

Participation in the study involves three visits over a 6-week period to the tinnitus clinic at UI Hospitals and Clinics.

Each visit will last approximately 2 hours and include tests for hearing and tinnitus. Subjects will also have to complete questionnaires.

The researchers will also provide compensation to the participants, although the amount was not specified.

If you have patients who might be interested in participating, they can see more information and register online here. Candidates will be contacted for potentially being involved in several studies that UI is conducting.
